Online Global Collaboration – Professional Learning

Have you been thinking about how to connect globally online? Do you need to connect and collaborate with others at a distance for your work? Are you wondering what digital tools best support online global collaboration?

The Global Educator online courses are recommended for K-20 educators and education leaders.

They are designed and delivered by Julie Lindsay who, as an internationally recognised global leader, has 25+ years experience in designing, implementing, and writing about online global collaboration, as well as vast experience in online learning design and teaching for K-12 and higher education.

Global Educator courses are multi-faceted and provide options for those who want a shorter learning experience and those who wish to become more embedded in the practice and theory of online global learning – how to connect, communicate, digital citizenship skills, intercultural understanding and online global collaboration.

What People Say …

Leave your preconceptions of teaching and learning at the door, prepare to learn and collaborate like you’ve never done before. The most exciting, exhausting, stimulating conference I’ve ever attended. Loved the chance to work alongside passionate students and teachers.

Michael Graffin, Perth. Australia

An amazing, cutting edge conference that uses technology and flat thinking to push participants into an innovative way of learning.

Anne Mirtschin, Victoria. Australia

The Flat Connections conference pushed me to expand my perspectives and grow my practice.

Dorothy Suskind, St. Christopher’s School. USA

The Flat Connections Conference is a different style of professional development, which allows for staff and students to create, communicate and collaborate across a variety of educational contexts.

Kate Miller, Tara Anglican School for Girls. NSW. Australia

This has been a wonderful experience for the students at Waterfall and one that they will remember. Being part of this project has also encouraged me to learn more about global projects and introduced technology that I have not used before and it was great to share that learning experience with my students.

Jennifer Porter, Waterfall Public School

A great place to meet like minded educators with a passion for learning.

Neil Bramsen, NSW. Australia.

Have a go, make sure your students ask lots of questions of their teammates. It is such a terrific concept and well aligned with the Australian curriculum.

Fiona Fitzgerald, Geelong Grammar

The FCC is a wonderful opportunity for students & staff to connect, collaborate and share experiences with other schools. It also supported our school vision for a 21C school – Open Plan, Personalised Learning, Passion Projects, State of the Art Technology and teacher/student on a first name basis, thus taking away that us & them feeling.

Heidi Hutchison, Friends School of Baltimore. USA.

It’s a great opportunity for students to work with technology in an authentic way – to communicate and share with students in other schools around Australia and the world.

Lisa Stephenson, Pleasant Heights PS

Students LOVED interacting with kids from other countries and replying to each other.

Lula Garcia, American School of Tampico
